Hi all I haven't posted here in a while so I thought I would show you some pictures of some of my recent work.

All blades are 3.5mm 01 tool steel

First up is one of my NSK (neck survival knife blades) with a scandi grind just needs a little polish then its all finished

Next up are two NSK blades with high and full flat grinds and one GPK (general purpose knives) with a nice high grind and secondary bevel

Two more carving blades on the bench ready to be worked on

A few mor blade ready for handles

Next is a yew handled NSK that is waiting for brass fittings

And finally a sambar stag handled NSK in the process of curing after being glued up

And a few pics of my poor grinder after all the hard work its done and after the adjustments made to the table as parts had to be ground down as they were catching

Recent Projects

Hi all I have been working on a mix of my GPK's (general purpose survival knife) and NSK's (neck survival knife) at the moment. I have recently finished one of each for customers of mine, here are some pictures:

First up is a GPK with a unknown hardwood handle, it is made from 4mm thick 01 tool steel and is fully heat treated with a zero scandi grind. It comes with bass fittings and a nice leather belt sheath.

Next up is a small NSK that has a nice ash handle with brass and copper fittings and a mosiac pin. It has a rolled finish 4mm 01 tool steel blade that is fully heat treated with a semi polished zero scandi grind. It comes with a nice leather neck sheath and a coyote tan paracord attachment. Here is some photos of it :

I have also started on another NSK which I will be using some of the new tufnol I just got in for the handle. Here are some photos of the blade and handle:

I have been very busy this week with a new batch of GPK's I have 8 of them on the go, one is already gone. The othe seven are still for sale, if you would like one then just email me with the handle material you want and I will sort one out for you. The starting price for one of these is £75 including postage.

Some pictures of the blades:

Here is the one that I have started for one of my cutomers.

Many thanks Alex

Two recent knives

Hi all I have recently finished two knives both are made from 4mm 01 tool steel that has a rockwell hardness of 58/59 and have zero scandi grinds. The smaller of the two the NSK (neck survival knife) has a two tone ash handle. It also has brass pins and tube with a central mosaic pin. Then the larger GPK (general purpose knife) has a lovely unknown hardwood handle with brass pins and tube.

Here are some pictures:

I hope you all like my work, please comment on what you think. And sorry for the poor photos.

Many thanks Alex

work in progress

Hi all here is a batch of GPK's (general purpose survival knife) that I have recently got laser cut along with an NSK (neck survival knife) that I have just finished. Also in the photos is a sheet of tufnol that I have just had in to try out I'm hoping it will look nice on the NSK.

Here you can see and get a better idea of the nice deep brownish colour of the tufnol.

I am just waiting on the delivery of some ceramic belts then I will be getting on and grinding these blades out. I will try to get some pictures of the grinding process and some pictures along the way when completing these knives. I will be putting these knives up on here for sale so keep watching and email me if you are interested in these knives.
